Adding Rotor Wash
In marine scenarios, you can add a rotor wash effect, e.g., to simulate the effect a helicopter propeller would have on the surface of the ocean.
To add rotor wash:
- Select Marine in the Toolbox.
- Double-click Rotor Wash to add it, or drag it to the desired location in the Explorer panel.
In the Properties panel, configure the following fields:
- Direction: Specify the direction of the rush of air causing the wash effect. Values can span between -1.000 and 1.000. For example, a Direction of (0.000, 0.000, -1.000) means the air travels straight down.
- Velocity: Specify how fast the rush of air causing the wash travels.
- Rotor diameter: Specify the diameter of the rotor causing the wash effect.
- Spray effect: Check this box to enable water spray from the rotor effect.
- Decal effect: Check this box to have a circular wash effect on the surface of the water.
